Welcome to Royal Wootton Bassett

Royal Wootton Bassett is located just two miles from junction 16 of the M4, making it an ideal base from which to explore the surrounding countryside and discover its many visitor attractions.

The combination of the old and the new, the historic architectural gems, modern shopping centres and nearness to some of the country's greatest houses and historic villages, makes this town midway between Bath and Swindon an ideal location for living, working and visiting.

Information on roadworks at Junction 16 attached
Posted: July 6th, 2018 | Category: News |

There are 2 issues with the A3102 heading towards junction 16, Wales and West Utilities (WWU) are chasing a gas leak on the Great Western Way and there has been 2 recent failures of the new signals at J16.

The signals are still under a 28 fault free test period which resets to 28 days each time there is a fault. The signals remain the responsibility of Swindon Borough Council (SBC) during the test period and once this period has passed will become the responsibility of Highways England. The works by WWU are on SBC’s road network and we have requested SBC to direct WWU to work 24-7 until these works are complete.

Please contact SBC direct for any updates..
